AIM To look at risk assessment and risk management as a means to getting the best out of situations for service users and their families by taking a positive, engaged and forward thinking approach to risk
At the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- Understand concepts and theory of risk management and positive risk taking
- Connect understanding of risk to the range of relevant policy and legislative drivers
- Show skills that make dialogue about risk and the recording of risk issues better
- Use a risk enablement tool for practice
This half-day course is aimed at staff who are supporting people whose care and support involves risk assessment and management. It will provide useful information about risk, positive risk taking and enablement. The course will involve practicing risk enablement processes. In addition, the course uses a number of learning activities (for example; discussion, group work and individual reflection etc.) to help participants to have a deeper insight into the challenges and opportunities for working proactively and positively with risk issues.
