AIM: To equip staff who are supporting people who experience psychosis with highly usable skills and approaches

At the end of the course, participants will:

  • Understand different perspectives for understanding psychosis
  • Have practised key skills, as recommended by NICE, for one-to-one work with people experiencing psychosis and distress
  • Understand a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) approach to working with psychosis
  • Be able to link best practice to recovery

This one-day course is aimed at staff who are supporting people who experience psychosis that causes them distress or problems in relationships with others.  It will provide useful information about best practice, as recommended by NICE, and will involve skills practice and development.  The course uses a number of learning activities (such as presentation, group work and individual reflection) and will introduce participants to a number of highly usable skills and approaches.
