AIM To introduce participants to the key principles of mindfulness meditation practice

At the end of this afternoon course, participants will have:

  • Been introduced to the key principles of mindfulness
  • Considered the evidence base and benefits of mindfulness
  • Experienced a range of mindfulness-based practices
  • Reflected on how to incorporate regular practice into daily life

This half-day course is aimed at any one interested in finding out more about mindfulness meditation practice.  No prior experience of mindfulness or meditation is required to attend.  It will provide an overview of the key principles, highlight the benefits of regular mindfulness practice and provide an opportunity to try different mindfulness meditation practices.  The course uses a number of learning activities (such as presentation, group work, guided meditation and individual reflection) to help participants develop their understanding.
