AIM: To learn how to assess and manage risk using FACE

At the end of the course participants will be able to:

• Discuss what is meant by risk and therapeutic risk-taking
• Identify the purpose and limits of risk assessment
• Specify the links between risk assessment and care and relapse planning
• Complete a FACE risk assessment for a client

This course is for those who use or wish to use FACE risk profiles as part of their overall risk assessment and management practice. The course looks at the concept of risk, what it is, why we may assess risk, who benefits (or not) from risk assessment and how we can complete a risk assessment. Threats to effective risk assessment, ways in which services may pose a risk to their users and the limitations of risk assessment will also be considered. There will be online pre-course activities to complete ahead of this session taking place at Community Links Oakwood Hall Training Centre.
