The Liaison and Diversion (L&D) service is a partnership between Leeds Community Healthcare NHS Trust (LCH) and Community Links, funded by NHS England to deliver L&D Services in North East Lincolnshire, North Lincolnshire, Humberside and East Riding.
Liaison and Diversion services identify people who have mental health issues, learning disabilities, substance misuse and all other vulnerabilities at point of entry into the criminal justice system as suspects, defendants or offenders.
We work with people for up to 12 weeks to find and refer them to services and organisations that will support them to address the vulnerabilities that have been identified. The main aim of the service is to divert people out of the criminal justice system and into the most appropriate support, increasing their engagement in longer term services.
We aim to improve outcomes for people and to support them to minimise their contact with the criminal justice system by ensuring the right support can be put in place from the start.
Referrals to the service can be made by contacting 0113 3760 370 and selecting option 2, Humberside L&D.
