The Calderdale Dementia Hub is a partnership between Community Links and Age UK Calderdale & Kirklees and offers an information and advice service for anyone of any age diagnosed with dementia, and their friends, family and carers.

The Calderdale Dementia Hub is commissioned by Calderdale Council and launched in March 2022. The launch of the Calderdale Dementia Hub follows the success of its sister service The Kirklees Dementia Hub, which has provided dementia information and advice to the Kirklees area since 2017.

Information and Advice:

There is a Dementia Information and Advice Line on 01422 399 833 for those who are concerned about themselves or a loved one. The advice line offers information about how to live well with dementia and signposting.

Appointments:

One to one appointments with you and your loved ones.

This can be done:

  • At one of our weekly community settings
  • By phone appointment
  • By home visit

Community Sessions:

We provide Community Sessions for those supporting someone to live with dementia and those diagnosed with dementia to learn more about how to adapt, live well and remain independent.

Dementia Awareness Raising:

The Calderdale Dementia Hub provides Dementia Friends Sessions and Awareness raising within the local community.

DEEP Group Sessions:

DEEP stands for Dementia Engagement and Empowerment Project and is a network of groups of people with dementia all across the UK

There is a monthly meeting for those diagnosed with dementia to meet others on their dementia journey, enjoy activities and being together. This is a safe space to share your views and take part in opportunities to create change in Calderdale and be heard about what you want to see in your local area.

Carer2Carer Buddy Scheme

Are you a carer of a person living dementia in Calderdale? Do you feel alone or isolated?

Why not join our Carer2Carer Buddy Scheme where you will be matched to another carer based on interests, area and caring situation.
