The York Families Wellbeing team, in partnership with Changing Lives, provides community-based support to families within the City of York.
The service helps families struggling with any issues which may affect their housing or have a negative impact on their children’s wellbeing. We work with families whose children are aged 0-19 years old, or 0-25 years old where the child has a disability. We welcome applications from people who may have mental health needs, autism or learning disabilities in their family.
Our service can help with the following:
We will work with each family to understand their individual needs and help them to manage their own support plans. We can also support families to access help for children, where needed.
Our aim is to enable every child to be happy, resilient and safe within their family home and the wider community. We do this by supporting and enabling parents and carers to meet their own and their children’s day-to-day housing, financial and wellbeing needs.
We support families to develop the confidence to move their lives in positive directions and to meet their personal goals. We do this by building trust, working creatively and encouraging personal growth. Our ultimate aim is to create strong and independent families who are able to manage their lives successfully and confidently on their own.
We are open five days a week: Monday – Thursday 9.00am to 5.00pm, Friday 9.00am to 4.30pm.
