The Leeds Mental Wellbeing Service (formerly Community Links IAPT) works with individuals who are experiencing a mild to moderate common mental health problem, such as depression, anxiety and stress; we provide treatments based on CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) principles as part of the Leeds Mental Wellbeing Service.
Our primary aim is to help clients understand and find ways of coping with their mental health problem. The talking therapies we provide include guided self – help, stress and mood management, groups and classes, and one to one cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) as well as other psychotherapeutic approaches.
The Leeds Mental Wellbeing Service works with people who are over 17 years of age, with Community Links being the lead for young people in the city (17-21).
Clients may be offered courses, online therapy or individual sessions following an initial assessment, usually over the phone, a shared decision will be made about treatment.
All interventions have a sound evidence base and are recommended by the National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE). Community Links has a focus on Young People with strong links with other organisations and services who work with this age group across the city.
Core office hours are; 9am – 5pm Monday to Thursday and 9am – 4.30pm Fridays. Appointments are also available outside of these hours e.g. before 9am and up to 7pm, and Saturday mornings.
