About the service

Community Options is a community based mental health service which provides both 1:1 and group support to individuals with mental health issues. We work with people in a person-centred, recovery focused way to build skills and confidence to help them achieve their goals. We work across the city, linking people with opportunities and activities in their local communities.

Our group programme aims to help our clients meet new people, use their skills and ideas and lead healthier lives. Activities include weekly travelling café social meet-ups, a walking group, cooking group, cinema club, women’s group and men’s group. We work in partnership with clients to create new groups and plan trips based on their interests and talents. Recent examples include day trips to Scarborough and the Yorkshire sculpture park.

Aims of the service

Together with the client, we develop a personalised support plan agreeing aims and tracking progress over a 6-month period of support. They will be supported to access resources in their own community, engage in group work, including social groups and skills based workshops. get involved with the service, have a say in the activities and service developments.

We support people who are:

  • 16 years and over
  • Have a significant mental health need
  • A resident in Leeds
  • Registered with a Leeds GP

We work to empower people to make changes in their lives and so it is also important that people are open to the possibility of change and are wanting to move forwards.

Community Options offer a seven day a week service, between the hours of 9am and 7pm.
