Update for clients re COVID-19 – 27/03/2020

In response to the current challenges faced by clients across Kirklees due to COVID-19, Changes have had to change the way we are communicating with you. To keep you and our colleagues safe, we will support you over the telephone, rather than face to face. Where you feel you need additional help, we will refer you to the right service to meet those needs.

About the service

Community Links Changes provides a specialist support service to women with recent offending and complex needs, including Personality Disorder, in the Kirklees area. Traits of this diagnosis include : self-harm; low self-esteem; struggling to engage and/or express needs; difficulty adapting to change; anti-social behaviour; impulsivity, difficulties with relationships.

Aims of the service

We work with clients to reduce offending behaviour, increase independence and encourage personal responsibility.

Clients may have previously had difficulty in accessing and engaging with services or may have been excluded from mainstream services.

We offer support both on a one to one basis and through group activity sessions, tailored to the individual and based around an ethos of client empowerment.

The group sessions are to improve well-being and increase emotional resilience and independence. The groups are constantly being developed by the team to suit the client base.

Referrals

We only accept referrals from statutory organisations such as GP, Probation, Community Mental Health Teams, Social Services, or the Police. . To be eligible for the service, service users must have been involved in the criminal justice system in the last six months, had a caution or conditional caution in the last six months or committed an offence in the last six months and live in the Kirklees area.
