Pioneering Suicide Prevention Training Launched

Community Links Training are launching a new suicide prevention training course in September – ‘Suicide to Hope’.

This course has been designed by Livingworks, the Canadian organisation that also wrote safeTALK and ASIST. Suicide to Hope is a new course and to date there are only 50 trainers in the world and 3 registered trainers in the UK, including our own in-house expert Bill Penson. Bill travelled to Denver – Colorado earlier this year to attend the Train the Trainer course and will now be delivering this course on behalf of Community Links Training.

The one-day course is designed for clinicians and other professionals who encounter suicide as an inevitable and significant part of their job. Suicide to Hope aims to improve your confidence and preparation to provide effective suicide care. It is designed to strengthen hope by helping recovery and growth in people with previous suicide experience who are currently safe.

CL Training is at the forefront of suicide prevention training and has worked very closely with partners in the region to deliver training and better prepare our regional workforce. This course complements our current suicide awareness and prevention offering – safeTALK and ASIST and we will now be able train professionals to not only keep people who are having thoughts of suicide safe for now but also how to work together with the individual towards their recovery and growth.

Our first Suicide to Hope session will be delivered in Leeds at our Training Centre in Oakwood on the 22nd September.

The standard course fee is £150 per delegate, however our valued customers who have completed ASIST training with us are offered the discounted price of £130.
