Residential service Oakwood Hall rated 'good' by CQC

The CQC has rated one of our residential services, Oakwood Hall as ‘good’ in their recent inspection.

Oakwood hall is a 12 bedroom dual registered nursing and residential care home in Leeds for people whose mental health needs cannot be satisfactorily met from other services.

The service has been based at Oakwood since 1994.  Residents are offered a stable, non-institutional and therapeutic environment in which they can address those behaviours which have led them to be excluded from other services, engage in the rehabilitative process and develop to their full potential.

The service was rated ‘good’ in all five areas : safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led.

“People told us that staff were caring and that their privacy and dignity were respected. People were
encouraged to become more independent to support them to return to live in the community.”

“On both days we visited, there was a calm and relaxed atmosphere at the service. People were able to do what they wanted and made use of communal space in groups, alone, or with members of staff. One person liked this and said, “It’s quiet. I sit by myself and have time to think and reflect”.
