Social Prescribing Branding Workshop
Have your say in shaping a new NHS funded service in Leeds…
We’re running a workshop to help us develop a name and design style for a new citywide social prescribing service and we’d very much like you to be there.
The workshop is taking place from 1pm – 4.30pm on June 6th in the Leodis Room at Leeds City Library, Calverley Street, Leeds, LS1 3AB. Lunch will be provided.
We’d like to encourage members of the public as well as people who work in health and care to come along. Places are limited so please do get in touch as soon as possible: firstname.lastname@example.org
What is social prescribing?
Social prescribing helps support people who see their GP about issues which are not directly related to medical conditions. According to NHS England around half of GP appointments are not directly related to medical conditions, according to experts.
Growing evidence shows that referrals to community services such as exercise or art classes, history groups and even ballroom dancing can boost health and wellbeing more than dishing out pills or other treatments.
Three social prescribing services have been running in the city in recent years. From 1 September 2019 there will be a single citywide service in Leeds, ran by a group of community and voluntary organisations led by Community Links.
We think now is a great time to get our service name and branding right so we can support people in Leeds and that’s where you can help us.
Please email us if you would like to get involved. Please note that places are limited so contact us as soon as you can – email@example.com
