Making Batley Dementia Friendly

Come along to Batley town centre on 5th September 2018 to our ‘Making Batley dementia friendly’ event. The Kirklees Dementia Hub along with other Kirklees services are running a variety of free events!

There are guest speakers at Batley town hall from 11am, information stalls, free refreshments, dementia friends sessions taking place at Jo Cox house and dementia activities are taking place at the Batley library.

Activities are as follows :

Batley Dementia Conference : Town Hall, Market Square Batley, WF17 5DA  – speakers from 11am – 2pm, the event will be opened by the Lord Mayor of Kirklees, Cllr Gwen Lowe.

Dementia Information event : Old People’s Centre, 90 Commercial Street, Batley from 12 – 3pm – free entry – find out more about services and support available for people living with dementia in Kirklees.

Dementia Friends sessions : Jo Cox House, 3-5 Branch Road, Batley, WF17 5RY – free 1 hour sessions starting from 10am. Sessions times are : 10am – 11am, 11.30am – 12.30pm, 1pm – 2pm, 2.30pm – 3.30pm.

Dementia Activities and ideas : Batley Library, Market Place, Batley from 12 – 2pm.  Activities include memory boxes, fidget quilts and visual art sessions.
