West Yorkshire Finding Independence (WY-FI) is a West Yorkshire wide programme funded by Big Lottery which aims to improve the lives of people with multiple and complex needs across the region.
We have volunteering opportunities with our Kirklees Navigator team for people with lived experience to help support our work as Peer Mentors. This is an exciting opportunity to really help make a difference to the lives of people with multiple needs in Kirklees
Successful applicants will undertake a 12 week Peer Mentoring Level 2 accredited course with our WY-FI partners Touchstone. The training will focus on building the skills and knowledge to effectively support the work of the project within the Peer Mentor role.
Following successful completion of the course, placements are based with our team in Kirklees. As a Community Links volunteer you will receive the same level of support and access to training opportunities as within our other volunteering schemes.
You will need some previous experience of volunteering or supporting others and lived experience of at least 2 of the following areas:
- Re-offending behaviour
- Mental health
