Systemic Family Therapist

Systemic Family Therapist
Band 6 / 7 / 8A AFC Depending on experience
Band 8A 22 hours per week / Band 6/7 22.5-30 hours per week
Ref: J268-B0447-21-1023

We have funding for four days of a Band 7 Systemic Family Therapist, or three days of a Band 8a. Alternatively, we would consider a developmental position for people currently completing a Masters-level training (employed at Band 7 when qualified).

Aspire has a well embedded culture of family collaboration and is keen to develop an Open Dialogue approach. You would be expanding our work with families and social networks, for example through direct therapeutic work and integrating systemic/dialogical thinking within the service through (joint) working and training/consultation to the MDT. The post will provide opportunities for service development, evaluation and research.

This position would be an excellent opportunity to develop an area of special interest and expertise. We are looking for applicants with a strong desire to work with people who express unshared and apparently unusual distressing experiences (the ‘psychosis’ field), have experience of working in secondary care mental health and an ability to expand systemic/dialogical ways of working within the service.

The service has a proud tradition of supporting creativity and innovation and you would be joining a thriving psychological therapies team including clinical/counselling psychology, CBT, systemic therapy and dramatherapy.

Aspire is a city-wide service that works with people aged 14 – 65 who are regarded as experiencing a first episode of ‘psychosis’, or as having an At Risk Mental State (ARMS). We work creatively and holistically with the person and their family/social network to promote recovery, positive mental wellbeing and social inclusion. Community Links is an ambitious, forward thinking organisation which aims to provide high quality services, adhering to the principles of best practice, promoting equal opportunities and working positively with diversity.

The successful candidate should hold a full UK driving license and have access to a vehicle for work purposes.
