Community Links is an award winning mental health provider working across the region of Yorkshire and the Humber whose core values are: People, Integrity, Collaboration and Passion.

Our Liaison and Diversion Service provides a seamless link with police custody healthcare services across Humberside. We are seeking a Peer Support Worker with lived experience of the criminal justice system.

You will act as a recovery champion working with service users strengths and personal goals to manage their mental health issues, reduce offending behaviours and increase independence to enable them to define, build and live independent and satisfying lives.

You will be both empathetic towards client’s individual needs and capable of focusing on client assets, promoting positive outcomes and helping define their personal goals.

Due to the nature of the role we are seeking individuals who have lived experience of the criminal justice system within the last two years.

Experience could include:

• being involved with probation services
• recent prison leavers
• experience of being arrested or cautioned
• overcoming substance misuse
• issues experienced homelessness/risk of homelessness
• breakdown of family relationship

This post will be subject to a full enhanced DBS background check. All convictions will be considered and decided on a case-by-case basis
