Resettlement - Mental Health Housing Support Service

The resettlement service provides a flexible and client-centred service to people with a range of mental health problems and other support needs. We are able to work with people for up to 2 years.  Support is geared towards the person achieving a successful independent tenancy and living a fulfilled life.  We offer a floating housing support service to people in their own accommodation.
Support is usually one-to-one and helps people to access psychiatric and other services.  The service also provides: emotional support; guidance and advice; advocacy (speaking out on a client’s behalf); practical help including budgeting skills and support in managing housing needs.
The service encourages people to be as healthy as possible both mentally and physically, and enables them to be independent by identifying their strengths, resources, and aims.
The resettlement service offer a high quality city-wide service with a variety of services including: Markham Avenue drop-in (mainly for Black African and Caribbean clients), Walker House (five self-contained short-term flats for women and Little London drop-in (available to tenants in flats locally).
Additional specialist workers are available for the following groups;
• Single parents with children, including a South Asian support worker
• African and Caribbean people, including a women’s worker
• South Asian people, including a women’s worker
• Clients with substance misuse issues
