Personality Disorder Accommodation Support
The Community Links personality disorder accommodation support service is part of the Leeds Personality Disorder Clinical Network.
The clinical network is a multi-agency service provided by partners from health, social services, probation, voluntary sector, substance misuse and the housing sector.
This service is part of the national development programme to improve services to those with a personality disorder diagnosis.
The main aims of the accommodation support service are to:
Prevent homelessness by early intervention
Work closely on trigger issues and with agencies that identify them
Offer short-term intervention or to plan to move or to sustain existing tenancies longer term
Develop and sustain a working relationship with an individual in order to achieve effective change
Work collaboratively with service users and be guided by and be responsive to their needs and preferences
Offer a consistency and continuity of approach and involve service users in the choosing, planning and reviewing of support strategies
Promote an optimistic viewpoint towards recovery and the capacity for service users to achieve positive change
Referrals to the personality disorder accommodation support service can be made via the Leeds Personality Disorder Clinical Network. The referral pathway is through Community Mental Health Teams (CMHTs).
