Leeds charity is star employer
Community Links is delighted to announce that it has been awarded Best Companies 2008 star status for outstanding workplace and investment in staff in the Best Companies 2008 employee engagement accreditation scheme.
The elite national accreditation scrutinises workplace engagement and sets a benchmark for other companies to follow.
It follows a 'Michelin star' system, with companies awarded one star for first class, two stars for outstanding and three stars for extraordinary performance.
Says Jon Woolmore, Chief Executive, Community Links:
"We are delighted with this award from Best Companies. Our staff have assessed Community Links as a First Class company to work for, and that is what all our services are built on."
Investors in people
Community Links has renewed its award of the Effective Leadership in Management model of Investors in people. The assessor was told by staff:
"I won the lottery when I came to work here."
"I have never had anyone say to me that they do not have the time to listen."
"The buddy and mentor scheme is all part of an amazing induction."
"There are high expectations both internally and externally but with teamwork we deliver."
Staff cited the regular constructive reviews and feedback as "having a powerful impact upon job satisfaction."
"We learn together and have ample opportunities to grow and influence change in a positive way."
The IIP assessor reported: "A leadership team who are visible role models for their values and behaviours" and "The tone of the approach is set by the Chief Executive who seeks to get to know the whole person from selection and induction as well as working alongside staff".
Pathway Development Service – national project
Community Links is proud to announce that, in partnership with Leeds Partnerships NHS Foundation Trust and the Humber Mental Health Trust, we have been commissioned by the Forensic Catchment Group to set up and run the regional care pathway service for personality disorder for the Yorkshire and Humber region.
People with a personality disorder diagnosis can experience fragmented support in areas such as housing, mental health, and the criminal justice system and can be pushed from service to service. The Pathway Development Service aims to ensure people get the right service at the right time and will work primarily with service providers, such as medium secure mental health units and prisons. The service will also be a source of good practice for other professionals. The service aims to be running in January 2008.
Mental Health First Aid
Community Links is to deliver region-wide training which helps people understand mental health, reduces stigma, and means that anyone who needs help gets that help quicker. The 2-day training programme, Mental Health First Aid, is currently running in Scotland, and Community Links will be the organisation to bring it to Yorkshire and the Humber in 2008, with financial support from the Big Lottery Fund. Community Links is part of the Altogether Better group, led by Yorkshire and Humber Strategic Health Authority, whose key members are all the local strategic partnerships and all the primary care trusts in the region.
